Welcome

Welcome to THE WAR IN ARKANSAS command simulation blog. You will find news p0sted below with archives at the bottom of the page. Additional information and resources are available by clicking on the tabs above.

WIA Mod Links

This page will be used for links to the WIA Mod that will be used in THE OZARKS CAMPAIGN.

The mod is for the game Take Command 2nd Manassas. It is not necessary to have the game to participate in the simulation, but it helps understand how the in-game portion of the simulation works and the typical formations used, etc. It is also not necessary to have the mod (modification) for THE WAR IN ARKANSAS, but it will also help if you wish to view the terrain first hand.

TC2M GAME

THE GAME: To start, the Take Command 2nd Manassas game is needed. It is still available from Norb Software Development Inc: Buy Take Command 2nd Manassas  When installing the game in Windows 7 or later, it tends to attempt to install in C: Programs(x86).  For mods to work effectively, it is recommended that you install TC2M directly onto your C drive, rather than into the programs(x86) directory.

PATCH 3.0: Once you have the game, it should be patched up to the last version, which was 3.0. The patch is available here: TC2M Patch 3.0

CMP3.0: The WIA Mod will be based on what is known as CMP3.0 (Community Mod Pack 3.0). This was developed by members of the TC2M community when it was at its height and includes additional maps, flags, units and other modifications to the game. It is available here: CMP3.0

TC2M Community: If you have any problems or questions concerning the game, patches on CMP3.0 mod, the TC2M community still has active members on its forum who are always more than happy to have new community members and offer assistance. TC2M Community Forums  This is a section on the message boards for TC2M Technical Help as well as a Command Simulation forum used by the community to discuss "sims."

WIA MOD

Here are instructions for installing the complete WIA Mod as a separate installation. I am not particularly skilled a modding, so I was unable to put it into an exe. file that could be easily unpacked and I struggled to find an easier way to go about it. I also do not know how to make them CMP4 compliant, but I will have "maps" only mods available for CMP3 on the forum soon.
