Unit Strength and Quality

THE WAR IN ARKANSAS: UNIT STRENGTH AND QUALITY has been added to the document links. Unit strength will be shown as present for duty and absent in returns provided to the Chief of Staff. The document explains how changes in unit strength will be applied throughout the simulation, inclusive of movement of men between "present for duty" and "absent."

The document also explains how changes in unit quality will be applied. Players will not receive information on unit quality or grades once the simulation has started, but there is a method for applying changes based on battlefield experience.

Commander attribute have been randomly assigned by a roll of a die to each battery, brigade, division and corps commander used in the simulation.  The attributes may be adjusted positively or negatively based on changes in the quality of the officer's command.

THIS DOCUMENT IS NOT REQUIRED READING. It is not necessary for participating in the simulation. It is simply an explanation of the sim methodology used for those who are interested.
