Commanders Assigned, Maps Being Finalized

Players have been assigned their divisions and announcements made on the MadMinute Games Take Command 2nd Manassas forum. (We are still looking for one Union Division Commander.) More details will be provided to commanders over the coming weekend, including the opening position of their division (where they are encamped on the campaign map), additional maps, brief intelligence reports, orders of battle and more.

A few final adjustments are being made on some maps, including one additional road on the campaign map (Veasey-Witherspoon). Again, the campaign theatre and maps are fictionalized versions of the area that is roughly between Hot Springs and Arkadelphia. Some of the settlements that were there during the war are no longer there and some of the settlements on the campaign map did not exist in the 1860s and developed as the railroads began to flourish in the post war period. Dams placed along the Arkansas River also greatly changed the terrain in the 20th century. A few localities a simply not placed precisely on the campaign map. The road network is much more developed than it was then, and in some cases may even be more developed than it is now. Although fictionalized, the campaign theatre is inspired by the actual geographic area as much as possible using pre-existing TC2M maps for the simulation.
