Lebanon

Lebanon was the first county seat of Searcy County, located on the banks of Bear Creek. The county seat was moved to Burrowsville (present day Marshall) sometime after 1857, but it still appeared as Lebanon on war time maps. The Mitchell map show Lebanon on the east bank of Bear Creek, but earlier and more accurate maps show it on the east bank.

THE OZARKS CAMPAIGN representation of Lebanon has it on the east bank of the creek, with the Clinton Road approaching from the north, crossing Bear Creek at town ford and then continuing south to on the east side of the creek. Jasper Road approaches town from the south. On the east side of the creek, the Batesville Road move north through Baker Hollow, around Baker Ridge and then south again to the town ford, where it joins the Clinton Road.
