Tour of Rapps Barren

The map for Rapps Barren for use in THE OZARKS CAMPAIGN is now completed. Here are some views of the map:

Rapps Barren Town from Rockbridge Road and Falls Creek Bridge. The Mountain Home Academy for Men and Women is visible at the end of the "Academy Road" that leads from the bridge.

Rapps Barren Town from the Military Road. The first white building on the right is the parsonage, followed by the Baptist Church and the Rapps Barren Post Office (the name changed to Mountain Home just before the war, but it was still known as Rapps Barren for some time).  Talburt's Hill is behind the Mountain View Academy on the right.

Rapps Barren Town from Talburt Hill. On the right, Rockbridge Road can be seen going over Meadow Hill. On the left, the Military Road goes over Buzzard Roost Hill towards Wilks Hill. The clump of trees on the far side of Falls Creek is a small crest of South Meadow Hill.

North Slope of Dodd Hill from Falls Creek.
Part of the Dodd Plantation from the south slope of Dodd Hill:
Wilks Junction looking down the Military Road towards Buzzard Roost Hill, Dodd Hill and Town.
The B. Russell House at the junction of the Rockbridge and Wilks Roads, looking towards Wilks Hill:
