DEF Cavalry Orders and Reports

General Canning, Cavalry Corps:

From Winfield, your 1st division will lead the demonstration movement by I Corps towards Ozark, by the Winfield-Ozark Road. Use 2 of your brigades to screen the approaches to Castee from Shoal Creek, and to Boonville from Trouble Hill. Continue with your 3rd brigade and artillery to Mt. Gilead, place your artillery on good ground there to defend the river crossing, then proceed with your 3rd brigade to Ozark and await further orders.

From Warren, your 2nd division will screen the right flank of the army and probe towards Arkansas Post. Send 2 brigades and your artillery to Fare Forest, find some good ground there to defend, and await further orders. Send your 3rd brigade to hold Monticello, and finally send your 4th brigade towards Arkansas Post by the Warren-Monticello road and then the Monticello-Arkansas Post road along the river, to scout Arkansas Post.
