There are some changes in elevation affecting line of sight. The Stroud Farm is visible shortly after starting on the march, but then disappears from line of slight briefly. It takes about 15 minutes for the lead regiment to reach A. Stroud and start on the curve towards Criswell.
At around 8:48, the Glover Farm is visible in the distance to the east (Union Road to Pilot Hill), but Criswell (much closer and on the Smithville Road) is at times obscured by the rolling hills) At around 8:55, the head of the column is near Criswell, but the rear is still passing in the vicinity of A. Stroud.
The screenshot a 9:04 is taken from east of the Smithville Road, looking at the marching column as it moves between Criswell and Moody.
The lead regiment reaches Cross Plain town around 9:20 and the entire division is deployed in reserve columns just past the east end of town at 9:55 a.m.
Although the elevation going south-north through town is not significant, the east side of town has significantly lower elevation than the western and center parts of town.
