The details are still sketchy, but a 2nd attack by Hobbs' 1st and 2nd Divisions on the Princeton Road line was repulsed after having reached as far as the Willow - Princeton Road Junction. The attack of Hobbs' 3rd Division (Gowan) up the Princeton Road was met by Brig. Gen. Johnson B. Rooney's division, which came from a concealed postion in the woods behind the main line. Rooney and Gowan fought to a standstill.
Dibble's cavalry brigade went to the support of Randall's Brigade and succeeded in pushing back Herling's Brigade. Dibble began to move towards Diehl's Battery of 20 lb Parrotts on Round Hill, but was met by Col. Bryan's Brigade (1/3/XXVI), which was extending the line to the left to meet a threat by Pease's Brigade, which was extending the Confederate line to the right. Dibble began to harass Rooney's flank when dusk gave way to night and the lines disengaged.
More to details to come. The extent of the losses is not yet known, but expected to be high.
