- Col. Cyrus Hutchinson (3/1/III/AOA) killed by Meaney's Battalion (2/Cavalry/DEF) in the fighting on Pilot Hill Road near the Chamte Farm as the III Corps was stopped by cavalry while advancing down towards Pilot Hill.
- Col. James C. Thayer (1/1/III/AOA) killed by the 84th Alabama (2/1/II/DEF) at the beginning of the assault on the enemy line at Moore Branch.
- Brig. Gen. Simon E. Quinn (3/1/II/DEF) killed by the 151st USCT (2/1/III/AOA) while leading his brigade from reserve to fill a gap in the line. The 151st USCT was part of Col. John W. Quinn's brigade, in a Quinn's Brigade vs. Quinn's Brigade action that resulted from the 1st Division, III Corp, AOA line being ordered to shift and Quinn's Brigade (1st Division, II Corps, DEF) being simultaneously ordered to fill a gap that put the two brigades in the same place at the same time.
- Col. John Harvey (2/3/III/AOA) killed by the 78th Georgia (2/2/III/AOA) while leading his men into a gap resulting from the collapse of Reed's Brigade (3/2/II/DEF) as Harns' Brigade came in from reserve to fill it.
