Mt. Olive: Day 8 - 8:30 a.m.

Reports are out for Mt. Olive. Brig. Gen. Paul Herling's Brigade skirmished lightly with the Confederate line north and northwest of P. Young and then retired under the cover of a hill to the north. The batteries from both sides have been exchanging fire and Maj. Gen. Piatt himself was seen reconnoitering the enemy line. near Herling's men. But... there was no clash of infantry. Casualties were very light.

Tomorrow... Pilot Hill and (hopefully) North Fork.
